The work of an embassy is not limited to meetings, reports, cultural events, or diplomatic engagements. Sometimes, it becomes part of the most precious and meaningful moments in people’s lives. Last week, the Czech Embassy in Seoul had the honor of hosting a wedding ceremony for a Czech couple who decided to say "I do" far from home—but still under the Czech flag.
In June 2025, a quiet yet deeply meaningful wedding took place at the residence of the Czech Ambassador in Seoul. A Czech couple exchanged vows of eternal love on the grounds of the Embassy—territory that, although located abroad, remains officially part of the Czech Republic.
The ceremony was held in a serene and intimate atmosphere, attended by close friends and witnesses. With a respectful nod to both legal requirements and cultural traditions, the couple began their new journey together in a heartfelt and modest celebration.
Through this event, the Czech Embassy once again recognized its role not only as a diplomatic institution but also as a meaningful part of the lives of Czech nationals abroad. It was a profound honor to support and share in such a memorable moment.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul remains committed to assisting Czech citizens overseas, and to being a warm, supportive presence during life’s most important milestones.
