
Ambassador Ivan Jančárek had productive visit to Daegu

Ambassador Ivan Jancarek had a fulfilling day in Daegu, focusing on enhancing educational and cultural ties between Czechia and South Korea.
His visit commenced at Kyungpook National University, where he met with President Hong Won-hwa. During their discussion, they explored the university’s vision and considered opportunities for strengthening academic exchanges and collaborations.
Ambassador Jančárek also took the time to meet with Czech exchange students, Šimon and Patrik, currently studying at the university. This engagement highlights the importance of student exchanges in fostering mutual understanding and cultural appreciation between the two countries.
Later in the day, the Ambassador attended the opening ceremony of the “Czech Composers” exhibition at the Beomeo Library in Suseong District. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Korea-Czech Association and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk International Exchange Association (DGIEA), aims to celebrate Czech music and its composers, promoting cultural exchange through the arts.
The day concluded with a productive meeting with Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo. They discussed the future direction of cooperation between Daegu and Czechia, emphasizing the potential for strengthened partnerships in various sectors, including culture, education, and trade.
