On Dec. 1, Ambassador Gustav Slamečka celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Global Energy Cooperation Center (GECC) with the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
GECC was established by the MOFA to be a bridge between foreign embassies and Korean energy companies. It has helped many domestic energy enterprises with their overseas expansions by providing energy information and human networks from the embassies for 10 years.
Attendees of the event included Foreign Minister Park Jin; heads of domestic energy business including Hwang Joonho, President and CEO of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power; and 23 heads of mission including Ambassador Slamečka and Ambassador of the European Union Maria Castillo-Fernandez.
Minister Park said in the welcome speech that, regarding the cooperation with American and European continents, Korea will strengthen the establishment of the supply chain through the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP) and the technology cooperation in nuclear energy and new energy.
