Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bartoš held meeting with Daejeon Vice Mayor Lee Taek-ku

One of the main agendas of the Czech delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bartoš was to discuss regarding Smart City and regional development.

On June 15th, the Deputy Prime minister visited City of Daejeon, which has been Brno’s Friendship City since 2016.

Vice Mayor Lee introduced Daejeon as Korea’s “science capital” with the nation’s largest research personnel and R&D infrastructure. They discussed cooperation between Czech and Korean cities, specifically in Smart City solutions, brownfield development policies, solutions to depopulation issue and stable housing policy.

The deputy prime minister said, “The Czech government is very interested in Smart City technologies,” adding, “We hope to continue our active exchange with Daejeon.”
