Who is eligible to submit an application for Employee Card at the Czech Embassy in Riyadh?

As of 1 July 2026, a zero quota has been set for the Embassy in Riyadh for accepting applications for Employee Cards from citizens of countries that are not within the territorial jurisdiction of the Embassy and who do not have free access to the labour market in the Czech Republic.

According to the latest amendment of Government Regulation No. 220/2019 Coll. With effect from 1 July 2026, applications for Employee Cards at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riyadh may therefore only be submitted by citizens of the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen, as well as the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.

The zero quota does not apply to applications for Employee Cards submitted under the targeted economic migration programmes (Highly Qualified Employee, Key and Scientific Personnel).

If you do not meet the above-mentioned criteria, you must submit your application at the Embassy of the Czech Republic responsible for your home country.
