Dear friends of the Czech Republic,
Under normal circumstances, I would greet you in person at a reception organized on the occasion of the Czech Independence Day. We would raise our glasses with Czech beer or Moravian wine and together we would celebrate this important Day of our country. This year, all is, however, different. Due to the pandemic, that has paralysed Europe as well as the rest of the world, we have to celebrate the National Holiday respecting the social distance of rather more than two meters.
Let me, virtually but together with you, wish the Czech Republic on the Holiday of 28th October only the best of luck, best of health and optimistic future. Let us hope the Czech Republic will soon flourish and grow together with its partners in Latvia, EU and in NATO, as well as with friends who like it.
I believe that next year this time, when we celebrate the establishment of the independent Czechoslovakia, the hard times will be over and we will be able to meet freely and together create our future.
Yours,
Jana Hynková
