Chairman of the Foreign Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic visited Palestine

H.E. Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic,visited Palestine in March 14 - 17,2016. The visit based on the invitation of H.E. Mr. Riad Malki, minister of Foreign Affaires of Palestine, with whom Mr. Chairman discussed on Wednesday, March 16,2016. During the meeting actual political situation on the Middle East and so called French Iniciative have been discussed. Palestinian situation and ways of extended cooperation between Palestine and the Czech Republic have been discussed as well with Mr. Nabeel Shas, member of the Central Committee of Fatah and the Chairman of Fatah Foreigh Committee and Mrs. Hanan Ashrawi, member of the Central Committee of PLO/Fatah.
During the visit, Mr. Schwarzenberg visited also the Bethlehem University, where he met the president of University, Dr. Michael Sansur and had interesting discussion with the students. He visited as well the area of Cremisan, where the separation wall is going to be built and the Navity Church in Bethlehem. Mr. Schwarzenberg also visited the Star Mountain Rehabilitaion Centre for Disabled Children and Youth near Ramallah, receiver of the Czech development aid, and newly established Birzeit brewery using the Czech know-how technology. He visited as well as the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem, beneficiary of the Czech development aid.
