
Visegrád Group – meeting on Western Balkans Fund

On June 19, 2017 Visegrád Group representatives – Hungarian Ambassador Lászlo Márkusz (representing the Polish Presidency of the V4), Czech Ambassador Ivo Šilhavý, Hungarian DHoM Béla Bozsik and Slovak DHoM Dana Coleová – met with the Director for Europe and EU Shkendije Geci Sherifi and Director for regional relations Fittim Gllareva at the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Márkusz presented a document „Western Balkans Fund – achievements and the way ahead“.
Director Gllareva mentioned successful ratification process of the Fund and appreciated cooperation of national coordinators. Once the Fund is operating, the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs will publish calls for project proposals, he said.
Ambassador Šilhavý emphasized the regional character of the WB Fund. It is necessary the Fund is able to work independently which means with full regional ownership embraced by all six member states, Ambassador Šilhavý concluded.
