On September 25-30, 2023, the traditional European Summer Music Academy - ESMA 2023 took place in Pristina.

The project is a unique opportunity for young musicians from the Western Balkan countries to study with world-class pedagogues and at the same time communicate with their peers from different countries and create together music

The ESMA music project was initiated by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Priština in 2012 together with the Czech pianist and music pedagogue Jaromír Klepáč. At this year's edition, two excellent music lecturers - Tomáš Vybíral (double bass) and Bledar Zajmi (violoncello), represented the Czech Republic. The final day was dedicated to a concert of all students, which took place in the Concert Hall, Faculty of Arts of University of Pristina. The program of the concert included works by important music composers J. S. Bach, A. Barrias, R. Rudi, P. I. Tchaikovsky, D. Dragonetti, D. Popper, H. Fryba and D. Shostakovich. ESMA 2023 again confirmed that the motto of the music academy "Building Bridges in the Western Balkans" is still valid.
