On December 7, 2018 Embassy of the Czech Republic in Prishtina organized the meeting of heads of embassies of the Visegrad countries (CZ, SK, HU - PL represented by HU) with Regional Affairs Director Valdet Sadiku and Director of Europe and EU Affairs Department of Kosovo MoFA Shkëndije Geci Sherifi. The main topic of the meeting was the Kosovo view of the activities of the Western Balkans Fund.
Head of the Office Mr Pavel Bílek gave a joint presentation on behalf of the presiding country of the International Visegrad Fund. He welcomed the official opening of the Western Balkans Fund. The V4 countries that stood at its birth are considering the Western Balkans Fund to be the joint success of the Western Balkans countries. Valdet Sadiku thanked the V4 countries for inspiration from the International Visegrad Fund, for significant organizational, technical and financial assistance in establishing the Western Balkan Fund and helping to organize the first call for projects in 2017.
Valdet Sadiku, who believes in a successful future collaboration between WBF and IVF, has asked for examples of successful IVF projects for inspiration. Projects should, according to Valdet Sadik, be directed to areas of cross-border cooperation, support for tourism or support for security and rescue services. Kosovo is the next presidency of the WBF.
