The 3rd Unit of Czech Military Police began its mission in Kosovo

On July 9, 2024 a farewell ceremony was held at the MSU KFOR base in Pristina for the 2nd Unit of Czech Military Police, which had been operating in Kosovo since January 2024. Its tasks were taken over by the third rotation of Czech MP personnel.

Personnel of the 2nd and 3rd Unit of the Czech Army Military Police together with the unit of Italian Carabinieri, who serve together in KFOR mission within the MSU, participated in a roll call ceremony on July 9, 2024 at the MSU base in Pristina.  Among the VIP guests were Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Kosovo Bohumil Mazánek, Defence Attaché of the Czech Embassy in Albania (covering also Kosovo) Col. Radim Jonáš and representatives of the KFOR Headquarters. MSU Commander Col. Massimo Rosati thanked the Czech soldiers  in his speach and expressed a belief that the 3rd Unit will deliver a professional and excelent work same as their predecessors. Ambassador Bohumil Mazánek emphasized in his speech the importance of the Czech soldiers participation in the KFOR mission, and highlighted the fact that through their good work the Czech military personnel support the positive reputation of Czechia abroad. Ambassador Mazánek also expressed his gratitude to the 2nd Unit and wished the 3rd Unit a lot of success. After the flag ceremony the members of the 2nd Czech MP Unit were awarded medals for their service in the mission, and some were also decorated with Italian military medals for their above-standard performance and cooperation with the Carabinieri.
