The meeting was attended by the President of the Kosovar Economic Chamber (KCC), Safet Gërxhaliu, who appealed in his speech for removing of the economic and business barriers, for the support of a dialogue with partners and for improvement of the institutional support of the business environment. In his view, the countries of the Western Balkans (WB) are too much concerned about the past instead of being concerned about the efforts leading to a better future for their own countries and the entire region. According to him, improvement of the connectivity of WB6 countries, a full implementation of the rule of law, gaining more foreign investments and integration of the social dimension into government programs would better contribute to the region´s stability.

Italian Ambassador Piero Cristoforo Sardi said that the Business Forum and some other accompanying Workshops would also be the part of the Berlin Process Summit in Trieste. A deeper cooperation of the WB6 countries would also speed up the accession process and the integration of the region into the EU.

The Deputy of the Chief of EU Office, Thomas Gnocchi, stressed the fact that the cooperation and good mutual relations among the WB countries have always been and will remain at the core of the Berlin Process and the EU's main agenda concerning the WB. The region benefits from the EU financial support, and in the framework of the Berlin Process, Kosovo has been able to prepare some strategic documents, particularly those concerning investments in energy and transport networks. The EU will continue to support the activities aimed at improvement of the economic integration and the development of the business environment of the WB countries, since the business and the commerce have always played a positive role in the connecting of the region.

Brief submissions were also made by the representatives of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania and the representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, the representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited the members of the KCC to the meeting in Belgrade.
