
Purim festivity in Kosovo

On March1, 2018 Bet Israel, the Jewish community in Kosovo celebrated Purim by a feast in the Sirius hotel in Pristina. Rushdi Shkodra, chairman of the Bet Israel welcomed all the guests, a lot of children among them.
Purim is the jolliest Jewish holiday, celebrated by feasts, masquerade costumes and gifts to the friends. It commemorates saving of Jewish people described in the Book of Esther of Old Testament, which took place in the fourth century BC in the Persian Empire during reign of the King Ahasuerus.
