Pavel Bílek recalled last year's successful visit of the President of Kosovo in Prague and her meetings with representatives of the Czech Republic. He emphasized a very good level of bilateral relations and their increased intensity in recent times. The Czech Republic sees the possibilities of their further deepening especially in the economic area.

Together with the President Vjosa Osmani, they recalled the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union last year and its significant achievements for the Western Balkans and Kosovo in the form of a decision to grant visa liberalization to the citizens of Kosovo and Kosovo´s application for membership in the EU. In this context, the Head of the Czech Embassy confirmed the Czech Republic's support to the European Perspective of Kosovo and to its membership in international organizations.

Pavel Bílek stressed that the Czech Republic is very closely following the current developments in the relations between Kosovo and Serbia. It is necessary to take steps towards de-escalation and to return to the negotiating table.
