
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo visited the Czech Republic

On 6 June 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz paid a working visit to the Czech Republic.
In Prague, she met Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský and Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák. In the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Minister was received by its Deputy Speaker Věra Kovářová, and had a meeting with members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The main topic of all discussions was the current situation in the north of Kosovo. Members of the Czech government and the Chamber of Deputies emphasized the need to de-escalate the current tension, the return of Kosovo and Serbia to the negotiating table and to continue to fulfill the common obligations. The Czech side reaffirmed the support for Kosovo's EU and NATO membership aspirations, as well in the Council of Europe and other international organizations. Well-developing bilateral relations provide perspective of further deepening, especially in the field of economic cooperation.
At the beginning of the visit Minister Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz laid a wreath at the graves of Václav Havel and Jan Palach.
