Head of Mission received in a farewell meeting by the Prime Minister of Kosovo

The Head of the Czech Embassy in Kosovo, Pavel Bílek, was received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti in a farewell meeting on June 30th.

Pavel Bílek emphasized the very good level of bilateral relations and their intensification in the recent period. The Czech Republic is interested in their further development, especially in the economic field. Pavel Bílek described the decision to grant visa liberalization to the citizens of Kosovo as one of the important results of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. Together with the Prime Minister, they recalled the historic moment for Kosovo, when Albin Kurti handed over Kosovo's application for membership in the European Union in Prague at the end of last year.

In this context, the Head of the Czech Embassy confirmed the Czech Republic's support for Kosovo's European perspective as well as the support for membership in international organizations. At the same time, he emphasized that the Czech Republic is closely monitoring developments in relations between Kosovo and Serbia. It is necessary to take steps to de-escalate the current tension and return to the negotiating table.
