The Embassy of the Czech Republic would like to inform that as of November 24, 2015 only Machine Readable Travel Documents will be accepted for travel to South Africa.
In cases of bona fide emergency situations, travellers utilising manually issued Emergency Travel Documents will be allowed to enter and depart South Africa. Travellers, who entered South Africa before 24 November 2015 on non-Machine Readable Travel Documents, will be allowed to depart and return to their countries of origin or residence. Travellers, who entered South Africa with a Machine Readable Travel Document and subsequently lost it, will be allowed to depart with Emergency Travel Documents.
Please note, that Passports without the Machine Readable Zone (Flash Passports) are not possible to use for travelling to South Africa from that date.
