On 19th August, we mark the World Humanitarian Day to pay tribute to those who work on the front lines of crises and to reaffirm our solidarity with all the people whose survival depends on humanitarian assistance.
In this year, Czechia supported three humanitarian projects in Cambodia aiming at strengthening communities‘ resilience against disasters. The project Enhancing Community resilience through Strengthening Early Warning Systems and Inclusive Communication in Cambodia by People in Need is a continuation of multi-year effort to introduce and maintain systems warning against floods. Projects ARISE III by ADRA and CARRC by CARE are improving resilience against climate change and disasters in Pursat and Ratanakiri. Beyond immediate humanitarian assistance, some of our development cooperation initiatives such as Smart Agri by the Czech University of Life Sciences are also aiming at empowering local communities in Battambang and beyond by improving productivity of agriculture and strengthening their self-reliance.
Together, we can make a difference!
