The reconstruction of Maternity and Gynecology Ward represents a part of the running project „Improving quality of maternal and child health care services in three hospitals in Kampong Chhnang“ funded by the Czech Republic/Czech Development Agency within the official Bilateral Development Program of the Czech Republic with the Kingdom of Cambodia. This program sets Health with focus on mother and child health care as one of its priorities. The above-mentioned project is implemented by Caritas Czech Republic in cooperation with Caritas Cambodia, non-governmental organizations with experience in health sector. Besides the renovation of Maternity Ward in Provincial Hospital (CPA3), the project aims to improve mother and child health care in the province through management and medical staff trainings, provision of medical equipment and devices and improvement of sanitation and hygiene facilities in 3 referral hospitals – Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach and Boribour. Totally, the project will ensure better access to health care for more than 48 000 women from the province.
