Roadshow presenting interesting facts about the Czech Republic, showing the skills traditions and beauties of the country and opportunities for Cambodian - Czech cooperation started in Kep on August 19, 2026. The aim of the Embassy, headed by HE Ambassador Markéta Kolc Hájková is to reach closer to individual provinces of the Kingdom and make a direct personal contact with local communities. Battambang and eventually Siem Reap shall follow until the end of the year and more provinces be visited in 2027.

In close cooperation with Kep representatives on national level, its governor and administration, the Embassy organized a series of presentations focused on past, present but especially future cooperation between the two countries. Particularly in development, education including scholarships, business or culture.

“The fact that Czech Republic is one of the only four European embassies residing in Phnom Penh clearly shows our friendly relations as well as interest for Cambodia and trust into its future and prosperity”, stated HE Markéta Kolc Hájková. “However important the high-level talks and strategic decisions made in the capital are, they need to be later materialized by everyday interactions and cooperation based on people-to-people contacts. And that is the reason we are in Kep today, to bring Cambodians and Czechs closer together and find prospective areas for future common activities”, the Ambassador continued. 

The program witnessed and co-chaired by leadership of Kep and attended by the provinces people consisting of various groups, from students to businessman, was enriched by an exhibition of photographs of the Czech landscape and traditions and examples of glass art and design, which the Czech Republic is very famous for. Czech expats and enthusiast voluntarily associated under regional flagship initiative Bohemindo Cambodia compiled this exhibition, already successfully showcased in Phnom Penh last December and gave the visitors a unique possibility to enjoy a sample of Czech vibe in their home province Kep.
