Alumni of Czech and Czechoslovak universities met again after a year

The annual meeting of Czech and Czechoslovak graduates was organized by the Czech Embassy on November 17, 2025. The meeting took place in the representative premises of the Himawari Hotel.

This year, eighty former students, several representatives of the Czech academic sphere and representatives of the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports met again. For many graduates, it is a unique opportunity to meet their peers after years and share memories of their student years abroad. The first Cambodian scholarship holders came to study in what was then Czechoslovakia as early as 1981. Over the course of more than four decades, more than 400 Cambodian students have graduated from Czechoslovak and Czech universities, making a significant contribution to the development of a modern and prosperous Kingdom of Cambodia. The fact that His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, studied in Prague between 1962 and 1975, contributed significantly to the success of the scholarship program. He is considered the most important foreign student in the Czech Republic. At this year's meeting, photographs of alumni from their stay at the studies were shown.
