The 44th International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2016 (further the ICEFA Lidice 2016) is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Czech Commission for UNESCO and the Czech Centres.

The International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2016 was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice, as well as other children who had died in wars. Over the years, the ICEFA attracted international attention and received over 25,000 entries from upwards of 70 countries in recent years.

The year 2016 marks the 70th anniversary of founding of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). On this occasion the 44th ICEFA Lidice 2016 has chosen the theme “School? Education!” which incorporates a number of specific sub-themes for younger as well as for older children.

The ICEFA Lidice is open to all children at the age of 4 to 16. The closing date of the 44th edition is 29th February 2016. After two round sessions the best entries are chosen by the panel of expert judges and then awarded and exhibited at the Lidice Gallery. The exhibition usually takes place from late May to the end of October and after the main exhibition is finished, smaller exhibitions are created from the exhibits to tour other venues in the Czech Republic and abroad.
