Czech state puts up for sale a unique property in the heart of Prague

The Czech Governmental Office for Property Administration is about to carry out the government resolution of April 2015 and will sell a unique administrative and commercial complex located on Náměstí Republiky (Republic Square) in Prague.

The property is situated in Prague’s historical city centre. It stands opposite the Municipal House, an Art Nouveau masterpiece, close to the Old Town’s Powder Tower, and 50 meters off Na Příkopě Street, the Czech version of Oslo’s Karl Johans gate; this street has been turned into a luxurious commercial zone that leads to Wenceslas Square. The distance to the world famous Old Town Square is just 500 meters.

The monumental three-storey building consists of three wings shaped around an inner courtyard. The total area is 7,347 sq. meters. Partial basement and attic space are also usable. The height of the building is 20 meters. The main frontage is one of the most important expressions of the Prague empire style. A stand-alone annex with a total area of over 1,250 sq. metres, leading onto Hybernská Street, is further part of the sale.

Given the exclusivity of the property, this one-time offer is also mediated by the Czech Embassy in Oslo to interested buyers in Norway and Iceland.

More details of the offer are contained in the enclosed pamphlet, issued by the Czech Governmental Office for Property Administration, and on the Office’s website. Enquiries can be sent by e-mail to miroslav.simon@uzsvm.cz.
