Opening of the Honorary Consulate in Chennai

Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Chennai with the consular jurisdiction for the State of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry was opened on March 13, 2019.

The Consulate will be at the disposal to the Czech citizens who could be in need of consular services.
It will also endeavor to promote trade and investment relations as well as people-to-people contacts between the Czech Republic, on the one hand, with Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, on the other hand.
The Honorary Consul is Mr. Ar Rm Arun.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hovorka said: "Honorary Consul Arun, renowned Tamil Nadu's entrepreneur, has been nominated and appointed for his personal integrity, extensive background, industry experience and continued comittment to contribute to the cause of strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between Czechia and India."
Appreciating his appointment, Mr. Arun said: "While being humbled by the honour of this responsibility bestowed upon me by the beautiful country of the Czech Republic, I look forward to fostering friendship among India and the Czech Republic, with a specific focus on Tamil Nadu and Puducherry."
