The establishment of a Czech Business Platform (Czechs in India) was announced on May 20, 2016 in Delhi. The Platform, which has been set up with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, is intended to create a value for Czech based companies through synergies arising from bringing them together.
The mission of the Platform is to serve as a meeting point for discussion and exchange of views, sharing information, knowledge, skills and experiences, strengthening public-private partnership, bringing more regularity to contacts with Czech official representations, networking with Indian businesses, reaching out to India officials and strengthening the brand of the Czech Republic.
Czech-based companies having commercial presence in India, which participate in the initiative, include Škoda Auto India, Tatra Trucks India, Bonatrans India, Gearspect, Lasvit India, Vítkovice India Power, CATAI, Home Credit India Finance, Zetor India, Fans Asia, ZKL Bearings (India), Technicoat, STROS ESQUIRE, Doosan Skoda Power, Preciosa and Papcel Technology India.
Czech Trade Promotion Agency (CzechTrade) and Honorary Consulates of the Czech Republic in Kolkata and Mumbai, as well as in Colombo, Dhaka and Kathmandu, participate in the Platform as Supporting Partners.
Czech Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and Indian-Czech Joint Chamber of Commerce graciously agreed to serve as Cooperating Partners. Among Associated Partners, e. g. companies willing to be affiliated with the work of the Platform and not having commercial presence in India are: TTC MARCONI, ERA, M&Bc Fiamoli, Retia and Cink Hydro-Energy.
On the occasion of the official launch of the Platform, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India Milan Hovorka commended Czech businesses for taking important strides to enter the Indian market and develop business activities there. He went on to continue. “In setting-up the Platform, we are neither creating a new institution nor substituting for any Czech-based business representation. We are getting ourselves together to increase visibility of the Czech Republic in India and help our companies maximise benefits arising from the fact that the Indian economy is on rise. No need to say that those willing to join the Platform we mostly welcome to do so.” For further information please contact: milan_tous@mzv.cz.
