Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Smolek in India

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and Consular Affairs Martin Smolek led Czech delegation during consular consultations between the Czech Republic and the Republic of India, which were held on March 1st, 2017 at the Ministry of External Affairs, in New Delhi.
Deputy Minister Martin Smolek held talks with his Indian counterpart Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay.
Both delegations successfully negotiated and concluded the text of an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports of both countries and discussed also other agreements on mutual legal assistance and cooperation in the fight against illegal migration. They also talked about concrete measures facilitating visa formalities for nationals of both countries.
Same day Deputy Minister Martin Smolek visited Joint Visa Application Centre in New Delhi operated by the VFS Global company in which applications for Schengen Visa may be submitted by applicants travelling to the Czech Republic and other European countries.
