
Visit of Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek in India

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomir Zaoralek visited India from 18 to 20 December 2016. During his three days official visit he had a fruiful discussion with Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo and with other dignitaries.
The main topics discussed were how to expand cooperation on further development of trade relations, cooperation in the security sphere and also the preparation of high-level contacts.
The ministers Lubomir Zaoralek and M J Akbar discussed a visa matters, fight against crime, police cooperation and migration. They both underlined importance of academic and scientific contacts and great potential which exists in tourism sector.
Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek in India was accompanied by a mission of Czech businessmen which was organized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. In India Habitat Centre Indo-Czech Business Forum was launched by Minister Zaoralek on 19 January 2017, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
"We are interested not only in the Czech investments in India, but also in Indian investments in the Czech Republic. There are already several successful examples and the Czech Republic can offer Indian investors good conditions," said Lubomir Zaoralek. "For the Czech entrepreneurs India is having a big trade and investment potential in sectors such as automotive industry, transport, energy incl. renewables, as well as coal mining," said Czech Foreign Minister.
Chief of Czech diplomacy in India was also happy to hear that India will participate with at least 50 Indian companies at the International Engineering Fair in Brno on October 9-13, 2017. launched a business forum organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
India is one of the most important trade partners of the Czech Republic in Asia. The total volume of trade with India in 2016 reached $ 1.2 billion.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomir Zaoralek with Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman discussed how to facilitate business between the Czech Republic and India.

Indo-Czech Business Forum organized jointly by Confederation of Indian Industry and Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. One of the key speakers was Ramesh Abishek, Secretary to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in the Commerce and Industry Ministry that spearheads the Make In India and Startup India programmes.

Minister Lubomir Zaoralek paid tribute to Indira Gandhi at her former residence in New Delhi. He was glad to see that Crystal River path donated to India by the Czech Republic is very well maintained.

Minister Lubomir Zaoralek also paid tribute to at India Gate in New Delhi to all Indian soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for their country.
