Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Tlapa received new Ambassador of India

Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Tlapa received on 20. July 2018 new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, H.E. Smt. Narinder Chauhan, in connection with the launch of her mission in the Czech Republic. The main topic was economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Deputy Tlapa highlighted the importance which the Czech side attaches to the planned visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in the Czech Republic in September 2018. Several contractual documents should be signed during this important state visit. Another topic of the meeting was business and economic cooperation, which has long been the basis for relations between the two countries. Former Czechoslovakia helped India in the industrialization of the country, and the Czech Republic is still perceived in India as an industrialized country with modern technologies. India is one of the three most important Asian export markets (along with the China and the Republic of Korea). In 2017, trade amounted to almost $ 1.5 billion.
