Ambassador met Commissioner of West Bengal

On December 31st, 2015 the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India Mr. Milan Hovorka met the Principal Resident Commissioner of West Bengal Mr RD Meena and Deputy Resident Commissioner Dr Rajesh Kumar to discuss the areas of cooperation between West Bengal and the Czech Republic.
During the meeting, Principal Resident Commissioner informed Ambassador about the Bengal Global Business Summit organised by the Government of West Bengal in Kolkata from 7th to 9th January 2016.
While appreciating immense potential of West Bengal, Ambassador Hovorka underlined that the summit would provide an excellent opportunity to better understand existing trade and investment opportunities and interact with different segments of local community. He noted that West Bengal and the Czech Republic have a long history of mutual partnership and that even today there is a number of Czech based companies keen to develop business ties with their Bengal counterparts in sectors like civil aviation, manufacturing, power generation and distribution and environment protection.
Ambassador also pointed to the interest of the Czech Republic to increase mutual cultural exchanges and mentioned in this connection that the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra would do a concert in Kolkata on February, 28th 2016.
