Ambassador Eliska Zigova presented the Letters of Credence to His Majesty The King of Bhutan

From June 12 to 17, 2023, H.E. Eliska Zigova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, conducted her first official visit to the Kingdom of Bhutan to present the Letters of Credence as a non-resident Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the King of Bhutan. During her first official visit to Bhutan, Czech Ambassador Eliska Zigova held talks with leading political representatives of the country including His Royal Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Prime Minister Lotay Tshering, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Tandi Dorji and others.

The Ceremony of the Presentation of Letters of Credence was held on Wednesday, 14 June 2023 at the Royal Palace of Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu. Czech Ambassador Eliska Zigova expressed during a High Tea with Hist Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck the interest of the Czech Republic to further deepen ties between the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Bhutan in the areas of education, technology transfer and economy.

During the official visit, the Czech Ambassador held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Lotay Tshering, who thanked the Czech Republic for its cooperation and expressed interest in continuing cooperation in the areas of economic and investment, technology transfer and education support.

Head of Mission, H.E. Eliska Zigova also held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Relations of Bhutan, H.E. Tandi Dorji, who presented the Czech Ambassador with opportunities in economic cooperation and expressed interest in deepening relations with the Czech Republic in the field of cyber security.

H.E.Eliska Zigova during her five days official visit also met with the Director of the Royal Textile Academy, a representative of the De-Suung Skilling Program and a representative of the Super FabLab in Thimpu.
