New Czech Military Representative Major General Alan arrives

On November 1 2020, Major General Jaromír Alan took over his responsibilities as the new Czech Military Representative to NATO and the EU, replacing Lieutenant General František Malenínský.
Before his arrival to Brussels, Major General Alan served as the Director of the Capabilities Planning Division of the Czech Ministry of Defence. In the course of his service career, he was deployed in UNPROFOR, UNCRO and IFOR in the former Yugoslavia, and completed several courses, including studies in the United States. MG Alan was already posted at NATO Headquarters in 2011 – 2014 as the chief of Czech liaison officers’ team.
Major General Alan, as a military representative, will represent the Czech Republic in the NATO Military Committee, which determines the military defense strategy of the North Atlantic Alliance. At the same time, he represents the Czech Republic in the EU Military Committee.
