56th session of the Human Rights Council opened

On Tuesday, 18 June, the UN Human Rights Council opened its 56th session, which will run for the next four weeks until 12 July.

The Czech Republic will continue to participate in the meeting as an observer and will actively speak on priority human rights issues. The Council is to deal with more than 60 reports at this session and will hold 28 interactive dialogues with Special Procedures mandate holders as well as investigative mechanisms. The Council will hold interactive dialogues with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk on his annual report.
