Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Martin Tlapa, led a business mission to Geneva

On 24-25 April 2017, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Martin Tlapa led a Czech business mission to Geneva. Representatives of seven Czech companies, mainly focused on environmental services, took part in a seminar organized by the Procurement Unit of the UN Office in Geneva. The participants of the event also had the opportunity to informally discuss and establish contacts between Czech companies and representatives of several UN agencies.

Deputy Minister Tlapa also participated in a panel discussion of the UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development on the implementation of the SDGs in the European region, where he discussed the adoption of the Czech Republic's 2030 Strategic Framework and the preparation of a voluntary review of progress in the implementation of SDGs in the Czech Republic in July at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

At the margins of the meeting, Deputy Minister Tlapa met with the Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, Christian Friis Bach, who appreciated the excellent cooperation with the Czech Republic and our ambitions to chair the UN Economic and Social Council.
