GOVSATCOM 2026 Conference in Luxembourg – European Security, Satellite Communications and Sovereignty

The GOVSATCOM 2026 conference, which took place for the ninth time in Luxembourg on 26 February 2026, confirmed the fundamental transformation of the European security environment and the growing importance of space capabilities for the defence, crisis management and strategic autonomy of the European Union.
The importance of the conference was underlined by the participation of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Guillaume. The conference was addressed by the Luxembourg Minister of Defence Yuriko Backes, the European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius, the General Manager of NSPA Stacy A. Cummings, the CEO of SES Adel Al-Saleh and, for the Czech Republic, the Senior Director of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic Radka Konderlová. The conference was also attended by Ambassador Barbara Karpetová and her team.
The speeches of political leaders, representatives of the EU, NATO, NSPA and industry focused on the European security architecture, the key pillar of which is secure, resilient and interoperable satellite communications (SATCOM).
Other expert panels were held during the day. The conference was attended by 1500 visitors and dozens of exhibiting companies.
