On 15 November 2025, Ambassador Barbara Karpetová received an award on behalf of the Czech Embassy from the Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation LUkraine for supporting the “Ukraine is Calling” project. Together with colleagues from other embassies, organisations and individuals involved in the initiative, we symbolically supported an effort that has a very tangible impact – saving lives.
“Ukraine is Calling” is an international campaign aimed at acquiring 112 emergency vehicles – fire trucks and ambulances – for Ukraine. The number 112 is not accidental: it is the European emergency number and also a reminder of how essential it is to help people in need. Thanks to the project, dozens of such vehicles have already reached the places where they are most needed. To date, it has raised €2.87 million, enabling the delivery of 96 ambulances, twelve fire trucks and four pickups.
A big thank you to LUkraine for their incredible energy and perseverance – and to everyone who has decided to lend a helping hand. Solidarity is a force that delivers real results!
