The Zambian delegation, led by Deputy Air Force Commander and Chief of Air Staff Major General Henry Chiwaya, included four members of the Zambian Air Force. The DRC delegation was headed by General Kaliba Taty Bernard, accompanied by three officers, including pilots.

At the Future Air Forces Conference, both delegations took part in the expert programme (www.futureairforce.cz) addressing airspace security, modernisation of fleets, training and simulation, and cooperation with NATO partners. They also held talks with the Czech and NATO Air Forces, meeting Czech Air Force Commander Major General Petr Čepelka and his deputy Brigadier General Petr Tománek.

The programme further included direct engagement with the Czech defence and security industry, represented by Omnipol, Aero Vodochody, TRL Space Systems, LOM Praha and others. Delegates tested training simulators in Pardubice and Ostrava, observed demonstrations of advanced autonomous aerial vehicles, and attended a satellite technology showcase highlighting Czech innovation.

The visit concluded with participation in the NATO Days 2025 official programme in Ostrava, where both delegations engaged with NATO allies and had the opportunity to meet with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, Minister of Defence Jana Černochová, and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Karel Řehka.

The visit underlined the growing interest of Zambia and the DRC in strengthening cooperation with the Czech Republic and NATO partners in the fields of defence, training and modern air technologies.
