Czech Business Delegation Explores Opportunities in Zambia's Copperbelt

From April 10-12, 2024, a delegation of Czech business representatives participated in the EU-Zambia Copper Value Chain Forum in Kitwe, city located in Zambia's Copperbelt province.

From April 10-12, 2024, a delegation of Czech business representatives, headed by Mr. Luboš Pavlas, President of the Confederation of Industry and Trade, participated in the EU-Zambia Copper Value Chain Forum in Kitwe, located in Zambia's Copperbelt province. This event coincided with a high-level visit from the Speaker of the Senate of the Czech Republic, highlighting the Czech commitment to exploring new business avenues in this dynamic region.

The delegation brought together 14 representatives from 10 Czech companies across various sectors crucial to the mining industry. These included advanced geological research, manufacturing of mining and processing equipment, and supply solutions for mines and processing plants. The team also featured specialists in circular economy and university experts, showcasing a broad spectrum of Czech industrial capabilities.

The forum served as an excellent platform for the Czech delegation to engage in networking, participate in B2B meetings, and explore substantial investment opportunities in Zambia. The focus was also on the strategic development of the Copperbelt region and enhancing its integration into international markets through the Lobito Corridor, an initiative supported by both the European Union and the United States.

With its comprehensive and relevant sector presence, the Czech delegation achieved significant visibility at the forum. The involvement of the Czech Senate's Speaker notably boosted this visibility, facilitating key discussions with top Zambian officials, including the President and various ministers.

This engagement not only reinforced the Czech Republic's dedication to expanding its international trade relations but also effectively positioned Czech businesses for successful entry into Zambia’s expanding market.
