Call for identification: Aid For Trade – Building Business Relations with Czechia

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka has opened a call for identification for Trade for Aid projects to be implemented in Zambia in 2026. All interested organisations are invited to submit their proposals strictly by September 10th, 2025. 
 

The Aid for Trade project is conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The project primarily aims to help partner countries facilitate and liberalize trade. Currently most projects receive a maximum funding of CZK 1 million including VAT. 

The submitted proposals must correspond to the nature of the Aid for Trade project and be in accordance with Zambia’s development goals. That being the following areas:

  1.  Economic development including energy
  2.  Production capacity building
  3.  Implementation of EU-compatible standards
  4.  Revitalization of mining companies
  5.  Building economic zones
  6. Strengthening the business climate
  7. Building financial literacy, access to finance
  8. Strengthening standards of operations including digital solutions
  9. Development of small and medium enterprises
  10. Related legislations
  11. Transport infrastructure
  12. Environment
  13. Agriculture including the food industry
  14. Forestry, etc.


In order to participate in the project, the following conditions must be met:

  1. A duly filled-in application form has to be filled out (Identification Form-Aid for Trade (DOC, 121 KB)). 
  2. The project must be in one of the areas clearly stated above. 
  3. The project must be done in collaboration with a Czech entity. 
  4.  The submitting Zambian partner must be: 
    1. A Zambian government entity (ideally the ministry or any other government led organization for a certain sector, municipality etc.). 
    2.  A private entity can also participate in the project, in the event they conduct the project with the support or knowledge of a governmental institution in Zambia. 

Deadline: The original application must be delivered to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka (4 Twin Palms Rd, Kabulonga) both as originals and as scanned copies sent to lusaka.development@mzv.gov.cz (Subject: Aid for Trade + your name) by September 10, 2025.

After the initial evaluation of the submitted applications, successful applicants will have to undergo an additional evaluation round conducted directly by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
