On 10 May 2018 Ambassador Radek Rubeš handed over credentials to the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe E. Mnangagwa.
Following the solemn handover ceremony of credentials, there was a brief meeting with President Mnangagwa. President spoke primarily about the economic situation in Zimbabwe and the attempts of his government to attract investors. Emmerson Mnangagwa recalled his short stay in Czechoslovakia in the 1980s and mentioned Zimbabwe's interest in cooperation in the manufacturing, agriculture and education sectors.
On May 9, Ambassador Rubeš handed over copies of credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zimbabwe, Mr. Sibusiso Moyo. The minister confirmed the Zimbabwean Government's readiness to declare presidential and parliamentary elections within the constitutionally set deadline. International election observers, including from SADC and the EU, have been invited. Zimbabwe is in the process of improving relations with the international community and, above all, hopes to improve economic relations and attract FDI as soon as possible.
