New Ambassador of the Czech Republic Presented Credentials to the President of Zambia

On 4 September 2025, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Zambia, H.E. Jiří Kyrian, presented the Letters of Credence to H.E. President Hakainde Hichilema during an official ceremony at State House in Lusaka.

The ceremony followed the presentation of the copies of credentials on 3 September 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received by the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mulambo Haimbe.

In his address, Ambassador Kyrian highlighted the long-standing friendship between Czechia and Zambia and expressed his readiness to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, education, culture, and, increasingly, digital and technological solutions. He also underlined the importance of solidarity and mutual respect in international relations. Ambassador Kyrian quoted Zambia’s founding President Kenneth Kaunda, whose legacy continues to resonate today:
“No nation can stand alone. We must learn to walk together – not as masters and servants, but as brothers.”

With this, Ambassador Kyrian officially assumed his duties in Zambia, committed to deepening the friendship and partnership between our two countries.
