Czech National Day Celebrations in Lusaka

Czech National Day Reception was held on 15th October 2024. In his remarks, Czech Ambassador Pavel Procházka noted that although the official anniversary of Czech independence is on the 28th of October, the event was intentionally held earlier to ensure it didn’t overshadow Zambia's 60th independence anniversary.

The reception was graced by Honourable Felix Chipota Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia. Hon. Mutati highlighted the rich history of Czech-Zambian relations, dating back to 1964 when Czechoslovakia recognized Zambia’s independence. He further emphasized the significance of current Czech projects in Zambia, particularly in the field of land use planning and integrated landscape management, supported by cutting-edge technological solutions from the Czech Republic.

The reception was also graced by Honourable Credo Nanjuwa, Minister of Southern Province of the Republic of Zambia, where numerous Czech projects are implemented.

Special thanks to Česká rozvojová agentura - CzechAid, Caritas Czech Republic in Zambia, People in Need, Mendelu in Zambia and CARE Zambia

A wonderful evening reflecting on shared history and exciting future opportunities! #CzechNationalDay #Zambia@60
