ABOUT THE ARTIST:
The most distinctive member of the young generation of Czech violinist, "the fighting musician" and top selling artist PAVEL ŠPORCL has been triumphantly received by audiences in major music venues throughout the world thanks to the combination of a rich classical background and unique unorthodox stage presence. Making regular appearances on television, radio and virtually all other media outlets Pavel's music is right at home on the top of the charts. He first took up violin at the age of five, going on later to study at the prestigious Prague Conservatory and Academy of Music (with Vaclav Snitil). From 1991-1996 Pavel furthered his studies in the United States., under the tutelage of outstanding teaches and virtuosos including Eduard Schmieder, Itzhak Perlman and Dorothy DeLay. The recipient of numerous priyes and distinctions, Pavel has created and impressive body of work as well as appearing on stages the world over with a variety of Czech and international orchestras. He is the sole young Czech violinist listed in the book "Violin Virtuosos: From Paganini to the 21st Century" by the world-renowned music critic and historian Henry Roth, Pavel Šporcl's extensive repertoire is comprised of 40 violin concertos, countless sonatas, along with numerous chamber and virtuoso compositions. His performances garner both popular and critical acclaim. Reviews of the inaugural concert of the Czech Philharmonic's 2001/2002 season which took place at  Prague's Rudolfinum under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy was recorded and broadcast by both Czech Television and Czech Radio. For his performance in Dvorak's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A minor critics lauded Pavel Šporcl as "a talent that is born once in a century...".  

Šporcl has appeared with major orchestras (National Orchestra de France, Tokyo Metropolitan Symp. Orchestra, Yomiuri Nipon Symp . Orch-. Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Suisse de Romande, Orchestre, Sinfonia Varsovia, Slowenische Philharmony, New World Symphony Orchestra, Staatkapelle Weimar, Hungarian Radio Orchestra), conductors (V. Ashkenazy, L. Pesek, V. Fedoseyev, J. Belohlavek, R. Mintzuk, A. Nelsons, Y. P. Tortelier, G. Pehlivanian, J.J. Kantorow, T. Kuchar) and also at prestigious venues (Suntory Hall Tokyo, Disney Hall Los Angeles, Alte Oper Frankfurt am Main, Concertgebow Amsterdam, Gasteig Munich) and festivals such as Rheingau Music Festival Schleswig-Holstein festival, Prague Spring, International Festival of Colmar, La Folle Journée Nantes, Radio France...In the summer of 2004 he debuted with tremendous success at one of the most significatn international festivals in Salzburg (Salzburger Festspiele). He has cooperated with great colleagues such as J. Suk, S. Mintz, N. Luganksy, G. Lipking. His recordings for such companies as EMI, Universal, Supraphon received many great critical acclaims. Pavel likes to go beyond the classical music scene and cooperates with many non classical music artists. His projects Gypsy Way (2008), and Gypsy Fire (2014) with gipsy cimbalom band has been received with great enthusiasm in many countries incl. China and was seen on almost 300 concerts by more than 120 thousand people. His anotehr "off classical music" project is pop-corssover "Sporcelain" in which he shows his view on violin in 21st century. Šporcl strives to bring the message of classical music to the broadest circle of listeners, and above all to the young audiences. He frequently performs in "Instructive" concerts targeting occasions. For 2014 he has been nominated for Czech Republic as Ambassador of Good Will. Pavel Šporcl plays on blue violin built specially on his request by Jan Špidlen in 2005.
