Applying for a Passport Outside the Consulate General in Los Angeles
22.09.2026 / 20:10 | Aktualizováno: 22.09.2026 / 20:56
The Consulate General in Los Angeles informs applicants that, during the year, it will be possible to apply for passports without having to travel to Los Angeles to submit an application. Applications will be accepted using a mobile workstation operated by a member of the Consulate General’s staff during so-called consular days.
Consular days will be organized in Las Vegas, Anchorage, Honolulu, Portland, San Francisco, Boulder, Phoenix, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. Visits to these locations will be scheduled sufficiently in advance based on the interest expressed by applicants.
To express your interest, please complete this form, providing information about the applicant, the travel document currently held, and, where applicable, documents proving Czech citizenship that are required in order to submit an application.
Based on the information submitted, and provided that there is a sufficient number of applicants, dates for consular days will be set. The Consulate General will offer applicants who are eligible to apply for a passport a specific appointment to submit their application. For applicants who cannot submit an application for any reason (for example, because they do not have a valid proof of citizenship or a civil registry document, or have never held a proof of citizenship), the Consulate General will discuss the possibility of applying for the documents needed to submit a passport application at a later date.
Applications will be processed using the mobile workstation in the standard manner (i.e., in the same way as applications submitted at the Consulate General). Newly issued travel documents will then be delivered through the local Honorary Consulates (or collected at the Consulate General in Los Angeles, at the applicant’s choice).
Given the overall length of the process (scheduling a consular day, processing applications, and delivering documents to the relevant office for collection), we recommend applying for a passport even if your current passport still has a sufficient period of validity remaining (approximately one year).
Please note that it is still possible to apply for a passport directly at the Consulate General, and this remains the preferred option.
Please share this information with as many potential applicants as possible; it may also be shared on social media, in Czech community and club publications, etc. Thank you for your cooperation.
