Free Access to the Czech Labour Market for UK Nationals

On 5 June 2024, the Czech government approved a regulation under which, from 1 July 2024, citizens of selected countries (including the United Kingdom) have free access to the Czech labour market. In practice, this change affects visa applications as follows:
- ● Schengen visa for employment purposes – applicants are no longer be required to submit a work permit issued by the Czech Labour Office.
- ● Employee Card – applicants are no longer be required to submit a vacancy number or a work permit issued by the Czech Labour Office.
- ● Blue Card – applicants must continue to submit the vacancy number listed in the central register of job vacancies.
- ● Intra‑company Transferee Card – no change to current practice.
