The visit began on 19 July with a meeting between Minister Havlíček and Czech exhibitors and business representatives at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London. Discussions focused on supporting Czech industrial activities and strengthening trade cooperation.

The second day of the visit centred on one of the world's most important aerospace events – the Farnborough International Airshow. Minister Havlíček officially opened the Czech national pavilion, which showcased leading Czech manufacturers and suppliers of aerospace and defence technologies. The programme also included the ceremonial christening of the Embraer C-390 Millennium multi-role transport aircraft, attended by Minister Havlíček together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Jaromír Zůna.

During the day, the Czech delegation held strategic meetings with global industry leaders, including BAE Systems, where discussions focused on the development of joint industrial projects and strengthening defence capabilities. Further talks took place with Sikorsky on the supply of components and the development of partnerships in helicopter technologies.

The programme also included a meeting with Boeing to discuss expanding cooperation with Czech suppliers in both civil and military aviation, as well as talks with Airbus on supply-chain development and partnerships for innovative aerospace structures. The delegation also met representatives of Lockheed Martin, RTX Corporation (Raytheon, Pratt & Whitney), Leonardo, Hanwha and Rolls-Royce Defence.

“Farnborough is the most important aerospace exhibition in Europe. I am very pleased that this year Czech companies were also supported by Deputy Prime Ministers Havlíček and Zůna. It was very encouraging to see that major companies such as Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Boeing and Raytheon know Czech companies and count them among their suppliers,” said Václav Bartuška, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The final day of the mission brought a key milestone for the future of Czech energy development. At the Czech Embassy in London, Minister Karel Havlíček, together with Tomáš Pleskač, Director of the New Energy Division at ČEZ, and Chris Cholerton of Rolls-Royce SMR, signed a memorandum on cooperation in preparing additional sites for the SMR Programme in the Czech Republic.

“The signing of the memorandum with Rolls-Royce SMR and ČEZ represents an absolutely crucial moment of our mission in the United Kingdom. Small Modular Reactors are a pillar of our future energy strategy, ensuring stable, clean and secure energy. Cooperation with our British partners opens the door to the most advanced technologies and enables Czech companies to become part of global supply chains. The United Kingdom is a strategic partner for us in energy, advanced technologies and the defence industry alike,” stressed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček.

The signing was preceded by bilateral meetings with representatives of the UK Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), led by Mike Finnerty, and UK Export Finance (UKEF), led by Tim Read.

The programme concluded on Tuesday afternoon with visits to Atelier Bohemia in London's Clerkenwell district and Škoda UK in Milton Keynes, where the Minister praised the successful presentation of Czech industrial excellence on the British market.

The visit of Deputy Prime Minister Havlíček confirmed the growing importance of Czech-British cooperation in strategic industrial sectors. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London will continue to actively support Czech companies entering the UK market and foster partnerships that strengthen the competitiveness of the Czech economy and further deepen bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
