On April 24, 2023, Ambassador, H.E.  Mr. J. Chmiel, accompanied by the intern Ms. N. Jenšovská, met with the dean Mrs. V. Rijavec at the Faculty of Law in Maribor. Their conversation focused on deepening Czech-Slovenian relations, mainly with a focus on cooperation between universities and the possibility of exchange stays.

The ambassador then gave a lecture at the faculty, which had three main thematic blocks. First, the ambassador discussed the main priorities that the Czech Republic set for itself, in cooperation with other Trio countries (France and Sweden) during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. Furthermore, the lecture dealt with current global challenges from the Russian aggression against Ukraine to the energy crisis in Europe, and finally he talked to the students about his experiences with the European Union and Africa. The lecture concluded by a short Q&A session with the audience.
