The Vernissage of Exhibition to 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Visegrad group

On Monday, April 11, 2016, the vernissage of exhibition to the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Visegrad group took place at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana.

The vernissage was another event held by Czech Embassy in Ljubljana in the occasion of the presidency of  the Czech Republic in the frame of V4 group.

H. E. Mrs. Věra Zemanová, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovenia officially opened the vernissage of the exhibition. The vernissage was installed in the premises of the Department of Czech, Polish and Slovak languages at the Section of Slavonic studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana. In her speech, the Ambassador summarized the history of V4 group and emphasized the fact that since the time of its founding, the group gradually became the most considerable profiled initiative in the region of Central Europe. The V4 group is a respected formation in the international scene. She also mentioned the priorities of year-long presidency of the Czech Republic in the frame of V4. The head of the Section of Slavonic studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana prof. dr. Namita Subiotto in her speech welcomed the installation of the exhibition in the premises of the Faculty of Philosophy and thanked the Embassy for the cooperation and support. The head of the Section for European states of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Milan Jazbec and diplomatic representatives of V4 also participated at the vernissage.

Students of Czech studies, Polish and Slovak languages enriched the vernissage in short cultural sketch together with Hungarian lectorate at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubjana. The sketch was managed by Miss Zdeňka Kohoutková, lecturer of Czech language.

About 150 guests  from diplomatic corps, representatives of Slovenian state institutions, academics, students and compatriots participated at the vernissage. Representatives of media were represented at the event. The vernissage had very good media response. The exhibition was open from April 11, 2016 till April 25, 2016, in the premises of the Faculty of Philosophy.
