In the frame of the celebration of 80th anniversary of the birth of Václav Havel, the premiere of his stage play called „The Mistake“ took place on December 5, 2016, in the industrial cultural premises of Rog in Ljubljana.
The text of this short stage play „The Mistake“ (1983) was translated into Slovenian language by the students and graduates of the studies of Czech language and literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. The play was directed by a junior director Ms. Zala Sajko (1987), a graduate of the major of the Stage direction at Slovenian Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana (AGRFT). The performers were the students of the AGRFT in Ljubljana.
The Havel′s dramatic micro-play „The Mistake“ is set in a prison cell and the theme is the communication between the prisoners, respectively communication between people as such. The young students of Czech studies handled the translation that reflects Havel′s prison experience also by using prison slang and vulgarism very well. Considering the shortness of the draft of the play, the director together with the actors performed the play twice during the theatre evening dedicated to Václav Havel. The first play used typical direction whilst the second one aimed at improvisation variation that updated the theme of the play as well as the meaning in an inventive and original way.
The performance of noncommercial character was seen by about fifty spectators and was received with a great success.
