Official visit of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka to Slovenia

During April 13 – 14, 2015, after seven years' break, the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka with his spouse which took place on the basis of invitation made by the Prime Minister of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar. During the two-day visit, the meetings with  Slovenian counterpart H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, the President of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Borut Pahor, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Milan Brglez,  the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Karl Erjavec and the Minister of Infrastructure H.E. Mr. Peter Gašperšič took place. Besides the official Delegaton, the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. B. Sobotka was accompanied by the group of Czech businessmen who participated at Business Forum that was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana. Czech businessmen also visited the port of Koper where they held a meeting with the management of the port.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Soča front and 70th anniversary of the end of World War 2, the Prime MInister H.E. Mr. B. Sobotka together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Karl Erjavec and the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Army Major General Mr. Andrej Osterman opened the Czech exhibition of "Photographers of the War " in the Military museum in Pivka.

The members of the official Delegation of the Czech Prime MInister in Slovenia were H.E. Ms. Věra Zemanová, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovenia, Mr. Martin Tlapa, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Martin Pros, the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, Mr. Vladimír Bärtl, the Deputy Minister of Commerce an Industry of the Czech Republic,  Ms. Běla Hejná, the Director of the Section of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, Mr. Martin Ayrer, the Director of the Press Department and the Government Spokesperson, Ms. Barbora Loudová, the Director of the Protocolar Department and Foreign Relations of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic.

The visit of the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. B. Sobotka to Slovenia confirmed existing high level of bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Slovenia in political, economic and cultural field. At all the meetings the historical and cultural relations but mainly possibilities of further developmnet of economic cooperation in Central European region as well as coordination of standpoints in the frame of the EU and deepening of contacts and cooperation of Slovenia with V4 on projects of mutual interest were positively evaluated.
