(This article expired 07.03.2010 / 01:00.)

The Embassy of the Czech Republic draws attention to the obligation to submit travel insurance valid for the territory of the Czech Republic (or Schengen countries) and covering the whole period of stay in the Schengen area. The visa cannot be issued without the travel health insurance mentioned. In case the application will be submitted without valid insurance covering the whole period of stay, it will be refused.

Travel health insurance must cover medical emergency treatment and repatriation (medical flight) to Kuwait/Qatar/home country for up to 30,000 EUR.

Written proof describing the coverage as specified above must be presented before collecting your visa - in its original and in Czech or English languages. Documents submitted in Arabic only will not be accepted.

For multiple visa applicants : you must sign the declaration regarding travel health insurance for subsequent visits to the Schengen Area countries. Such insurance must be valid for Schengen Area countries, covering whole period of stay on the territory of those countries, minimal coverage is 30,000 EUR and coverage includes repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical care and/or emergency treatment in a hospital.

The proof of travel health insurance might be requested by border control officers whenever the traveler enters Schengen Area countries.
